Bud Fisher's Mutt & Jeff comics are found in details throughout the collection. Mutt & Jeff was the first daily comic strip & ran from 1907-1983. M&J were swindlers, gamblers, drinkers, smokers & common folk. Slapstick enough for kids, but had running social dialogue & political satire for adults. A strangely forgotten piece of history, Mutt & Jeff were a perfect pairing for collection one.
